This week I provided the team with some concept work. This really killed 2 birds with one stone as they say-- I built all the assets in Maya and ruffed out a level for Dan to use as a guild. The assets used to make the concepts were imported into XNA and replaced the place holder art.
Having concepts to work from makes a world of difference when building the game and selling the vision to the team. Dan and I were able to discuses different ways to effectively execute the visual style. After talking we decided to use no texture files and to control all the color through code that references a vector 3 node and changes the color based on height.
The Character to the left is being animated by Betina this week. I'm currently working on some 2D sprites for the in game U.I.. Chris is working on splash screens, rendering out a video for the background, and finding sound FXs. Dan is making everything work... Lastly, our project sponsor Marty is setting up our first play testing session with hearing impaired gamers.
